Students involved in Project Bloom are currently out gathering accessibility data and capturing 360 video and audio that can be accessed through google street view.
This map will be examining accessibility on SJU’s campus. As allies to people with disabilities of all kinds, we will be advocating for universal design. We are trying to reach students, faculty, staff, and administration at St. Joe’s, as well as people who live with disabilities and those who are interested in learning about disabilities.
We will document the various accessibility features on SJU’s campus and identify any gaps in accessibility. The map will examine various buildings across campus, looking for features like ramp access, Braille signage, push-to-open doors, elevators, proximity to a handicap parking space, wide hallways, and high visual contrast. Certain buildings will be selected for interior mapping.
